Bharatiya Vidya Mandir (BVM) in association with Simplex Infrastructures Limited has been pursuing the skill development mission under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Bithal Das Mundhra, the doyen of construction industry, to bring in the change in work culture by addressing the following :
Organized structured training for construction workers and certify their competencies thus provide them an opportunity to progress.
Bring training centers close to workers rather than forcing them to go to training centers by establishing training centers near project sites.
Organize training for Supervisors and Foremen and develop selected one as trainer to overcome the shortage of frontline education staff under ‘Train the Trainers’ scheme.
Create hand holding process for young workers by nominating a mentor over a group of workers thus following the age old Indian tradition of “Guru Shishya Parampara”.
Expose workers to social ethics and self-hygiene.
Propagate Indian Culture and Heritage to build the moral character and inculcate the discipline ad team spirit in workers.
Our Engineer Development Programmes are structured to transform theoretical knowledge into actionable engineering intelligence. Participants gain exposure to design principles, project execution techniques, and modern tools used across infrastructure and industrial construction.
Our Engineers Development Programme Includes :
Project Engineering & Management Pogramme (Duration 2 Years) : To develop engineering skills and management capabilities among the potential and aspiring engineers to take higher responsibilities with concept of modern management techniques.
Graduate Engineering Trainee Development Programme (Duration 1 Year) : To develop trainee engineer’s skill and management capabilities and to teach modern construction techniques.
Junior Engineer Development Programme (Duration 6 Months) : This programme is focused on developing potential engineering professionals. The programme combines hands on experience with technical training classes with practical on-site training.
TRAINING METHODOLOGY
Workers Training has been divided into two categories, viz –
A. Training for Contractors’ workers who are already working at sites
B. Training for fresh or green workers coming directly from villages and towns having no exposure to construction work sites.
The modules of the above two Training Programmes are as under :
Module for Contractor Workers : This is a part-time training module for 240 hours wherein the training is provided for 4 hours everyday in the morning between 9:00 Hrs. to 13:00 Hrs. for 60 working days. These workers, after 4 hours of training everyday, are sent to site where they are being monitored and supported by the trainer.
Module for Fresh or Green Workers : In this category there are two modules as appended below
Under this, the first module is for full time and the duration is for 480 hours wherein the workers are trained at the training centers for 8 hours everyday for 60 days.
The second module is a part-time module based on
“Earh While You Learn” system wherein 4 hours pre-lunch, i.e. from 9:00 Hrs. to 13:00 Hrs. training is provided to trainees everyday for 120 days. After lunch they are allowed to work at site as trainees for which they are paid as per norms laid down by the project.
