Indian culture has a long history running beyond five millennia. It is one of the oldest outstanding cultures yet quite lively and modern as well. Its amazing continuity has won worldwide praise and appreciation. In the midst of its multidimensional diversity, it has an integrated cultural unity, at its core. Its perennial flow has singled out Indian culture for its uniqueness among world cultures.
Indian culture has always held universality as its aim. It has always kept itself aloof from narrowness whatsoever. Indian culture is vast and hundreds of volumes have been written on the subjects, on which we have taken articles by eminent scholars in their respective fields. Hence these articles are meant for readers who are eager to know about Indian culture and its rich colourful variety presented under a single roof. With these thoughts perambulating in our minds we planned to make an encyclopedic survey of Indian culture under eight categories, presenting before the readership the complex Indian culture seen through the eyes of the scholars. This parameters we present the Panorama of Indian Culture culling the rarest gems of Indian thoughts, like precious gems stringed together in a single garland.
This compendium of articles been blessed by three generations of writers from all over the country and abroad, philosophers, litterateurs art-critics, artists, historians and scientists. They have enriched the volumes by their erudition and wisdom. Indian culture is evolutionary in its very nature. Hence no last word can be said in the field of knowledge “Nothing is final” said Buddha.
